Forsyth County Commission to Consider Additional Short Term Rental Permitting Requirements

May 18, 2021

AS A REMINDER!

On Thursday, May 20th, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., the Forsyth County Board of County Commissioners (FCBCC) will hold the first hearing on a new ordinance that requires an additional permit and compliance with certain operating restrictions for a short-term vacation rental in unincorporated Forsyth County.

Currently, property owners interested in operating a short-term vacation rental must appear before the FCBCC to request a Conditional Use Permit.

If approved, the proposed ordinance would impose extensive compliance requirements, occupancy restrictions, and property inspections on properties approved for use as short term rentals.

The leadership team of 400 North Association of REALTORS® will be on hand Thursday evening to speak in opposition to the ordinance in its current form. Association talking points are available for your review and will be posted to our website as well.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

The FCBCC will meet in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, Suite 220, on Thursday, in the Forsyth County Administration Building. The administration building is located at 110 E. Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040. The public may attend, but seating will be limited.

If you are interested in participating virtually, use these instructions to access the remote options available.
